Falls The Shadow, The Life Of Athol Fugard (INSTITUTION COPY with limited public performance rights) [Blu-ray]

A powerful profile of Athol Fugard, the renowned South African playwright whose work gave voice to the oppressed under apartheid. Falls the Shadow explores Fugard's life and legacy through rare interviews and archival footage, featuring insights from Nelson Mandela, Nadine Gordimer, Ben Kingsley, Kathy Bates, and James Earl Jones. A moving portrait of art as resistance and the man behind the words.

Athol Fugard was considered to be the greatest South African playwriter and novelist. He served as a professor at the University of California in San Diego.

This blu ray is a small testament of his work in a behind the scene look. Footage that has been tucked away. I found it to be really interesting as I honestly hadn't even heard of Athol until this blu ray. I think most documentary lovers would enjoy this as much as I did.
