Humane! 2024 Horror Thriller! Spoilers!

Charles York and his wife Dawn have called the family to come home for a huge announcement. During a crazy time where the country was under an environmental crisis and has decided to offer families $250,000 for any member of their family to volunteer in helping depopulate by euthanasia. Jarod, Ashley, Rachel and Noah all of Charles children show up. Rachel brings Mia her daughter of which Charles did not want because he knew what he was going to say and it is not for children.

During dinner Charles decides he is going to tell the kids what they planned to do. Jarod explains they do not have to do that. That this was not for people like them. The York family are of a higher class and that this was more for lower to middle class. An argument breaks out between the kids and Charles of which Dawn gets up and says they will discuss more after dessert.

Not long after that they find a note where Dawn says she can't go through with this and has left. About that time there is a knock on the front door. Bob with the company who is providing the services has arrived to euthanize Charles and Dawn. Charles explains Dawn has left and that maybe Bob should come back another day. Bob tells him thats fine but you have to fill out paperwork no matter what.

Charles goes through with it and then Bob tells the kids he still needs another body. It doesn't matter who but he has to take two bodies back as that is what is in the order. Now the four kids are pitted against one another about who is going to be the one. Rachel and Jarod have taken control and said Noah needs to be the one because he is/was an addict who killed a woman. Noah explained he has turned his life around. He has been clean and sober and in a heathy relationship.

Eventually they all turn on him even Ashley who was the closest to him. Attacking Noah he fights back. Stabbed and cut he continues to fight back until Ashley knocks him out from behind. They tie him up and are about to kill him until Bob shows back up. They go to explain and leave their knives on the mantel. Upon going back to kill him the knives are gone and so is Noah. Noah surprises them and stabs Ashely in the stomach. He came up with a plan and explains it to the family. They call Bob and show how Ashley is dead. Roping Bob and Tony (head of security) in, they take control of all weapons and knock Bob out.

When Bob awakens he is tied to a table. He lets them know it is over they will get their money and he will take their sister. They show him it isn't Ashley under the sheet it is one of his soldiers. They proceed to tell Bob how she suffered because Tony didn't fully explain how to use the chemicals correctly. Bob pleading that they don't need to do this and Noah starts to push the chemicals in and screen goes black. When the screen comes back on you get an infomercial about Noahs girlfriend and Ashley being celebrated for giving their lives to help out the country and then Bob shows up and praises them as well.

Humane is a 2024 Horror/Thriller. Written by Michael Sparaga and directed by Caitlin Cronenberg. Has a really good cast with Peter Gallagher, Jay Baruchel, Emily Hampshire and Sirena Gulamgaus.

I give Humane a 3.5 out of 5. I think this was a great story considering how populated we currently are. I can truly see not only our country but others doing this. It reminded of a movies called Slashers in the early 2000's. It was about a reality game show in Japan where you have to run through three warehouse each one has a serial killer in it. If you make it all the way you win a million dollars but if you don't you are murdered. It was showing how Japan was taking things further than we were. So it gives me those vibes of this could happen. But if you like a good Horror/Thriller of survival you will like Humane. Be sure to follow my pages, like post, leave comments.
