Jay Sullivan is a young man with multiple personality disorder. One of which is a serial killer The Harvester. Jay tries really hard to keep that one inside but it doesnt always work. The Harvester goes to his former school and tells the only teacher that cared about him his plans. Tells her if she says anything he knows where she is and though he doesn't want to will kill her. Emily recently divorced Jay has been having nightmares about him finding and killing her. She has been going to therapy trying to move forward from the events but it doesn't seem to be working lately.  

In one of Emilys dreams she not only saw Jay but another man called The Trapper. A masked man ready to kill at any moment. Jay tells her she has the option to either die by knife or hands. As he starts to choke her to death she wakes up screaming. She tells her therapist all about it and asked if she reads the older sessions of which the therapist said yes to kind of refresh herself going into the new session.

Multiple Detectives are hunting Jay down. One of which is Jerry. Jerry believes that Jay has kidnapped his daughter. Jerry and his partner Aaron join detectives Ken Rogers and Gracie Kowalski. Ken is a retired detective but knows how much he is truly needed to stop this madman from killing more people. At this point The Harvester has continued to kill more people. And now he is taunting the detectives by calling Aaron and letting them know he is closer than they will ever know. After telling Jerry about what happened Jerry said he is going to go find Jay. Aaron said he is going to hang back. The Harvester gets Aaron.

Emily and Jerry find Sara Reids house. Jay was in a relationship with her last. Jerry had questions while Emily wanted to see Camille, Sara and Jays daughter. She felt it would give her closure to meet her since there was a part of Jay in her. 

Jay has also confined his sister to a holding location. Unsure what is happening the sister pleads to go home but Jay can't do that because the Harvester is not allowing him too. Jay goes to another location and takes Jerrys daughter Sophia food telling her to eat that he will be back in an hour and they are moving. He takes her to the same holding area as his sister. Sophia explains that Jay is not the monster people have made him out to be. 

 Jay finally takes more control over the other personalities and decides he will no longer kill and is done with everything. He is confronted by The Trapper and they have a fight. The Trapper gets the upper hand and stabs Jay leaving him for dead. Jay with will and determination or The Harvester within pursues on with his plans. The Harvester ends up killing more and more from a Sherriff to Ken Rogers.

Jerry confronts The Harvester for their showdown. Jerry gets the upper hand and seems to have him killed but The Harvester ends up slicing and dicing him. And goes for Emily. He catches Emily and in that moment Jay starts to come through because he can't kill her. Emily stabs him in the heart.

Emily goes home and falls to the floor in shock about what just happened. Joann, Emilys friend comes over to check on her. After talking for a bit Joann goes to leave but Emily gets a phone call from what is believed to be The Harvester. He says they need to figure out what room he is in. They check and nothing. But then Jenny, Jays sister shows up as she is living with Emily. Joann leaves only to show up to speak with The Harvester who explains it is time for phase 2. 

After credits scene Jenny and another person kill Gracie and the father of the first victim. As well as two more bounty hunters.

Setting up for a sequel??? Was it a friend??? Another sibling??? You will have to wait and find out!!!

I loved a lot about this movie. It pays homage to a lot of horror franchises. Makes you wonder if there are multiple killers, the cat and mouse chases, a fantastic score (which is placed in the right spots at the right time), horror posters and memorabilia throughout the locations filmed.

The only cork for me is the audio sometimes. I noticed a lot of the outside scenes it sounds like they recorded it in a room/studio which Paul verified that they had to do that due to heavy winds. 

This is Pauls first movie and for that it is very well done. I would give The First Harvest a 3 out of 5. 

Paul Allen was awesome enough to send me a link to the movie so I could review it. Both before hand and after I have talked with Paul to get info not only about the movie but more about how things came together. This movie had a $10,000 budget and was filmed from October 15th 2022 and finished in Late April of 2023. probably the biggest reason for Paul to finish this movie was his mother. Carol Blanton. Carol was co-head write on the film and was originally going to play Joley, Jays therapist. Unfortunately she passed away January 14th 2022. After talking with Paul about it more I learned how much he loved his mom. How they both had a shared interest in this movie and writing. At any point Paul could have given up on this film but instead wanted everyone to see what his mom helped create. I think Carol would be very proud of Paul.
