Nine years after the possessions of Josh and Dalton they slowly start to have memories about what happened. Not sure exactly what the memories mean and trying to figure it out more starts to happen. Josh now divorced from his ex wife Renai who would like for him to get involved more with Dalton. Time hasn't healed much between his divorce and the loss of his mother Lorraine. Dalton now in college is starting an art class that brings up memories of what he went through without him remembering what it was. Will Dalton and Josh get lost in the Further? Will they be able to beat this again?
Insidious is one of my favorite franchises and I love Lin Shaye but this is the worst one in the franchise in my opinion. It is a very weak entry and it is disappointing that from what I have read up this is the last one they are going to make. The story lacks real depth. Yes we learn about a few things like Josh's father and that neither himself nor Dalton remember the year that Dalton went into a coma. But other than that again not much of a story. In the previous movies there was more about the Lip-Stick Face Demon and the Old Woman aka The Black Bride. Reason I only mention those two this is a sequel to the second film. This is Patrick Wilsons directorial debut and I wouldn't say it was bad but it seems like for a person who has been in multiple of them he would have done a little more.
I give Insidious The Red Door a 2 out of 5. Again I feel the story is very weak compared to the other entries in the series. From lack of entities to lack of story. There is so much more they could have done, more with the Old Woman or the Lip-Stick Face Demon. You would think after everything that happened a stronger entity would be after them or the ones from the past would be more aggressive. Though it doesn't have a physical release date as of right now it does have a digital release date of July 25th for both Amazon Video and ITunes.
The physical copy that Amazon does show will be $25 but again doesn't have an actual release date.
