The Black Demon! Non Spoiler!

The Black Demon! Chocolatito, Lantica Media, Silk Mass and Mucho Mas Media. Directed by Adrian Grunberg and written by Boise Esquerra. Cast: Josh Lucas, Fernanda Urrejola, Venus Ariel, Carlos Solorzano, Julio Cesar Cedillo and Jorge A. Jimenez.

Paul Sturges is an Oil Company Inspector who company wants him to go inspect a rig in Baja. He takes his wife and two kids to with him to show the place that he and his wife have memories of. Kind of like a small family vacation. When they get into town the see that it is no longer the way they remember it and is now run down, almost ghost like. He gets called to head to the rig right away leaving his family at a restaurant until he returns. When he gets to the rig he meets Chato and Junior. When asked about the rest of the crew they explain they either were able to make it back or are no longer with them. When asked what do they mean no longer and Chato explains about The Black Demon. It is a 60ft Megalodon. Thinking he was only coming to inspect the rig and get to enjoy some family time has now turned into a nightmare. Paul now only wants to get off the rig and home.

This is a lower budget film but they did well. There is not a ton of tricks but there are some CGI things for sure. The script is not the best and the story is lackluster. It is not the worst shark/megalodon movie I've ever seen but also not the best. I would give this movie a 2.0 out of 5. The script and the acting are probably the two biggest problems for me. I would say it is worth the watch but I more than likely won't watch it again. I wish Josh Lucas could get better movies as I like his work. This movie is currently available digitally but you can get a physical DVD on July 11th for $14.99 on Amazon. Again I would wait to watch it when you can on a streaming site.
