 Evil Dead Rise! Warner Bros Pictures! Directed and written by Lee Cronin. Cast, Lily Sullivan, Alyssa Sutherland, Morgan Davies, Gabrielle Echols and Bruce Campbell voice only.

Jessica her boyfriend Caleb and cousin Teresa are vacationing out at a cabin and enjoying the wildlife. Teresa goes in to check on Jessica whos been in bed not feeling well. She tells her she is tired of her boyfriend and is going to leave if she don't get out of bed soon. As she starts reading a book Jessica sits up and starts reading it from the bed as her voice starts to change. Jessica falls out of the bed and Teresa goes to her to check on her. She begins to have a seizure and looks to have died. Teresa checks for a heart beat and gets scalped. Running out to the docks to tell Caleb, Jessica appears and takes his drone and puts her face in it and falls into the water. Fearing for her life Caleb jumps in to save her only to get his head removed. Jessica begins to levitate out of the water.

One day earlier Beth who is upset she is pregnant goes to visit her sister Ellie. Ellie a single mom of 3 and tattoo artist in their apartment. Danny, Bridget and Kassie go off for pizzas, when they return there is an earthquake or so they believe. Danny notices it leaves a hole to an underground room. He goes into the room and see it is an old vault. He finds a book and a few records and brings them back to the apartment. He tries to open the book but struggling to he pricks his finger and drips blood on it. Bridget sees the blood goes into the book and then it opens. After looking at multiple pages Bridget tells him to close it. After she leaves the room he opens it again and puts on record marked "One". Having to speed them up with his finger to understand them he hears a guys yelling "It's the book of the dead!" yet he still puts on record "Two". After realizing something really bad is happening he tries to remove the record but can't. He has unlocked the demon gateway. While getting on the elevator Ellie is attacked by the entity.

Ellie gets back to the apartment of which has lost power. When they check on her they soon find out she is no longer Ellie. She attacks Beth with a piece of glass stabbing her through the hand. She then goes after Bridget with a tattoo gun scratching her face with it and dripping blood into the wound. Danny knocks her off with a chair. They drag her outside the apartment and was going to get her help but the elevator and stairs are out. Ellie comes to and attack one of the neighbors biting his eye out, spits the eye into another neighbors mouth. Beth and Danny run back into the apartment and lock and barricade it up. Beth watching sees yet another neighbor getting throw across the hall but then sees Ellie get shot. Second later Ellie kills him as well. Nobody is left but the few in the house. Kassie gets tricked into unlocking the door for Ellie but Beth and Danny keep her from getting in. While Danny and Kassie hide, Beth finds Bridget in the kitchen eating a glass. Talking about how she doesn't like things in her tummy. When she goes after Beth but then turns on Danny and then goes after Kassie but is impaled with a broken broom. Danny tells Beth that Bridget was right he caused this and shows her the book and records. Beth picks the last record and says you started at the beginning i'll start at the other end. While listening she learns that everyone ended up possessed and there was no way to fix it other than cutting the body into pieces. Bridget comes back and stabs Danny, he sets her on fire but then dies from the stabbing. 

Ellie comes into the apartment using the vents and she knows Beth is pregnant and goes after the baby. Kassie slides Beth scissors and she stabs Ellie in the nose with them. Ellie tries to get Kassie back but Kassie is smart and knows it is not her mom. Running from everything they notice everyone is now possessed. They get inside the elevator and now it is working. They try to escape but it begins to fill with blood. When it finally stops at the basement it opens and the blood flows out. Trying to escape in the car but the morphed multiple demon catches them in the car. It chases Beth with a chainsaw and tries to pull her into a woodchipper but Kassie turns it off. Beth hits it with the chainsaw while telling Kassie to turn it on. Ellies head is left and it tells Beth she will be a failure as a mother. Beth kicks her head into the chipper and Kassie and her leave. The next morning Jessica enters the parking garage and is attacked by an entity. 

I give this movie a 2.5 out of 5. I went into it with higher hopes as this is a franchise I really like. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy as much as I wanted to. Yes there was a lot of blood and gore. Probably one of the biggest scenes was the cheese grater one. But other than that it didn't feel like an Evil Dead movie. Maybe because it wasn't out in the cabin. Maybe because they tried to say it was hidden by priest from many years prior and they built on top of it. I am not sure but it didn't feel like an Evil Dead movie. So far from best to worst the movies for me go 1&2, 2013, Army of Darkness, TV Series and then this.
