Scream VI! Paramount+ Review SPOILERS!

 Scream VI. Paramount +. Directed by Matt Bettinelli and Tyler Gillett. Cast Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Courtney Cox, Hayden Panettiere, Dermot Mulroney, Josh Segarra, Jack Champion, Devyn Nekoda, Liana Liberato, Tony Revolori, Samara Weaving, Henry Czerny, Roger L Jackson, Skeet Ulrich and Jack Quaid.

After the tragedy in Woodsboro the Carpenter sisters moved to New York. Tara is now a student at Blackmore University with other survivors from that attack Chad and Mindy. It has been a year since the attacks and for the last 6 months Samantha has been going to therapy to try and deal with everything going on. She is being called the Woodsboro killer. Unknowingly to them a killer never rest. Laura Crane is a professor at Blackmore and teaches Film Study. She has set up a date with who she assumes is a man interested in her yet she was being targeted by two of her own students Jason and Greg. Jason kills Laura after luring her into an ally near the restaurant she was supposed to meet her date. After killing her he changes in the ally and proceeds to go on with his night like nothing ever happened. He bumps into Tara on his way home and finds out about a party Tara is going to and ask if Samantha is going to be there. She tells him that is on him to try and get her there. He gets back to his apartment and gets a call from "Greg" tells Greg to stop using the voice box. Slowly starts playing hot and cold with "Greg". Passing through a room, the hall, the kitchen to finally be told hot. He looks at the fridge then opens it to find Greg decapitated. Quickly stabbed multiple times while saying they need to finish Richies movie.

Samantha tells the therapist details about how she felt murdering Richie. He says that is too much for him and she leaves. Passing by the crime scene calls Tara who doesn't answer. When she gets home their roommate Quin tells her Tara is at a party. Tara partying hard is told by a guy he has Fireball in his room. After Anika tries to keep her from going Chad steps up and stops them. Dude starts having a problem then Samantha shows up and tases dude in his testicles. Tara leaving pissed off tells Samantha to let her go. She doesn't have to be with her every minute of everyday. When Samantha says she isn't Tara explains how she came to NY with her when it is her in school there. After finding her ID at the murder scene of Jason and Greg, Detective Bailey wants to talk to her. On the way Samantha is called by Richies phone when she answers the killer explains that he is going to kill her and anyone who gets in his way. He attacks Tara but they get away running into a store where he kills multiple customers after they flip a shelf on him they run out of the store but he escapes out the back door leaving the mask from the 2011 killers. After going to the precinct FBI Special Agent Kirby Reed shows up. Telling Detective Bailey she doesn't want to step on jurisdiction just wants to help. Bailey tells her the masked left at the scene was one previously used by Richie one of the killers from last years Woodsboro killings. When they leave the station Tara and Samantha are confronted by multiple news crews and then Gale Weathers who is not welcomed by the sisters. Gale says she wants to help and Samantha tells her about how she said that before yet wrote a book about Woodsboro after saying she wouldn't. She then brings up the stuff with Dewey. Gale says that is a low blow and Samantha says so was the book. She throws a punch at Gale who dodges it and says this isn't her first time of which Tara clocks her with a right hook. Telling Gale she is more worried about being irrelevant than finding the killer.

Christopher Stone, Samanthas therapist gets a knock on his door. Slowly walking to the door trying to figure out who would be there that late at night. He gets close telling them they are a day early for Halloween and Ghostface punches through the glass and stabs him in the face, he leaves a mask from the Hollywood killings. Back at the station Detective Bailey tells Kirby isn't it weird that Samanthas therapist was murdered and just so happens her file was taken? Kirby said why would she do it when that was her alibi? The sisters, Mindy, Chad, Anika, Quinn and her boyfriend are back at the apartment. Quinn in her room talking to her father while her boyfriend showers. The rest of the group are talking around the kitchen table. Danny a guy Samantha has been seeing from the apartment complex notices Ghostface in her apartment. Screaming trying to get Quinn attention to no prevail he finally sends the group a text with a picture showing Quinn being attacked by Ghostface. Ghostface kills Quinn and Danny then goes after the rest of the group. Tara and Chad get out of the apartment but Mindy gets her arm slashed, Anika gets stabbed in the stomach. Samantha hits Ghostface with a knife block and the three make it into Quinns room. Danny tell them to get out of there and into his apartment using this ladder as a bridge. Samantha makes it across, Mindy makes it across but as Anika is trying she gets flipped off the ladder and falls to the ground below smashing her head against a dumpster. Ghostface leaves a mask from the Windsor College killings. 

After find his daughter dead, Detective Bailey says he is going to find the killer and kill him. Gale shows up calling for a truce and saying she knows where the mask are coming from. She takes them to a theater where there is a shrine to Ghostface. Has outfits, weapons, drawings from past murders. Samantha looking at the main outfit of Billys starts to have visions of her dad again. Kirby comes up with the idea of trying to catch the killer using a phone trace but when she does it the killer is not trying to get Samantha or Tara but she is at Gales. The girls figuring it out take Detective Baileys car and leave right away. Gale gets a call and her boyfriend answers it. Says it is for her and says it is the killer. Gale doing what she can to get info while her boyfriend is being killed. The killer chasing her around the apartment slicing and stabbing Gale gets in her room locks the door and gets a gun. Shoots twice and the killer says he has left or maybe he hasn't but is wearing a bullet proof vest. Gale shoots two more shots. She walks out of the room looking around the apartment and tells the killer to hold. She calls the number back and shoots multiple times into a closet. Fighting around the apartment again Ghostface stabs her multiple times but runs out when Samantha and Tara get there.

Kirby comes up with the plan to trap Ghostface at the theater. So the group agrees and gets on the subway. Mindy didn't make it on the one with the rest of the group but made it on the next one with Ethan who she suspects as being Ghostface. The first group makes it to the theater Samantha tells Danny he can't go in because they don't really know him. Danny agrees and tells her to be careful and then they go in with Kirby while Mindy gets attacked by Ghostface. Ethan gets her off the Subway and yells for everyone to call for help. Kirby explains that they are going to trap Ghostface inbetween the two electronic doors that lead into the theater. Kirby says she has cleared the theater already and everything is good. Detective Bailey calls them and tells them it is Kirby that she was fired from the FBI months ago for being unstable. Samantha having another vision of Billy telling her not to trust anyone and to get a weapon and clear the place herself. Taking Billys knife she realizes they have been locked in. She is attacked by Ghostface and while getting away runs into Tara and Chad telling them it is Kirby running from and defending themselves against Ghostface finally Chad knocks Ghostface down and Tara kicks them. Chad tells them to leave he is going to finish this and gets stabbed. Another Ghostface appears and they stab Chad a lot. Running back into the screening room the are approached by Kirby who says she was attacked by the killers. Detective Bailey shows up and they draw guns on each other. Bailey shoots Kirby and the two Ghostface reveal themselves as Ethan and Quinn. They also reveal that Detective Bailey is their father and that Richie was their brother. Tells Samantha that the mask he has is Billys and that she needs to put it on because he is going to kill her and frame her as the killer.

After revealing who they truly are Detective Bailey explains Richies love for Horror movies and though he personally didn't like them would do anything for his son. So he was able to get him all the weapons and outfits from evidence rooms. They taunt the sisters while slashing Samanthas arm. They begin to fight back against the trio and after knocking out Quinns teeth with a brick and stabbing Ethan it was time to leave. While trying to escape going out the balcony window Tara slips and Ethan is waiting on the ground for her. Tara tells Samantha to let her go and after understanding her hands her a knife and lets her go. Falling on Ethan who stabs her, Tara stabs him in the mouth and twist the knife. Samantha up top with Quinn shoots her in the head, Bailey standing behind her charges and they both go over the rail to the ground. When Bailey comes to he realizes the girls are not there. His phones rings and he is asked his favorite scary movie. After telling her that he is a cop who will they believe she says the one alive. Stabs him so many times. Tells him the difference between her and her father is she isn't a killer. He thanks her and then she kills him stabbing him in the eye for messing with her family. Sitting there talking to each other Ethan runs after the girls and Kirby pushes a TV on his head killing him. Danny shows up with the cops. Lets them know that Mindy and Gale were still alive at the hospital. While outside getting medical aid Kirby lets them know they are all family in this situation. Tara upset over Chad hears an EMT say we have another one and it is Chad. Mindy shows up and the core 4 are together again. Samantha holding Billys mask drops it and her and Tara walk off.

I loved this movie. It is more brutal than all the others. They brought more story to it this time as well. Only downfall is I am waiting for Stu to make his return because they never said he died. Other than that this was a great movie. I rate it a 4 out of 5. I will get it when it comes out. And hopefully if they are going to make a 7 we get STU!!! You can watch it if you have Paramount +, Vudu has it for $19.99 and the Blu Ray release date is set for July 11th.
