Margot and Chris (cameraman) are making a documentary about Margots past. Her mother Sarah left her outside a hospital when she was born and confused to why wants to know what made her do it. Through a website they meet Samuel who they find out is a blood relative. Samuel is Amish and is on Rumspringa. The three of them fly to NY to meet up with Dale who is going to be their sound guy. Samuel takes them to Beiler Farm where himself and Margots mother came from. Jacob who is Sarahs father welcomes the group and gets the settled in. Margot gets woken up by red lights while nervous about it Samuel calms her by saying it is just a hunting party. Margot goes into the barn and finds a little girl with a doll of which she calls Sarah. Margot tells her that is her mothers name and the little girl says she is still here. Later that night Margot hears something coming from her mothers old room. The next day they interview Jacob who tells them all about Sarah and how she slept with a boy outside their commune and got pregnant which is against their beliefs. Instead of giving the baby to an adopting family she left the baby outside the hospital. Sarah is said to be dead now. They fly a drone around and find a church of which they are warned to stay away and Jacob prevents them from going in. Later that evening the crew finds a ritual being done in the barn with a two headed goat.

Margot and Chris wanting answers decide to break into the church. They have Dale keep Samuel busy. They discover paintings of Asmodeus, a demon. They also find a deep pit of which Margot goes into. She hears strange noise and gets out quickly. Margot sneaks into Jacob room and gets on his computer to find that they know she is Sarahs daughter. She gets upset and Chris says they need to leave now. Before they can a shadow ghoul attacks Margot. The next day Chris and Dale find Margot catatonic with bloody sheets. Chris and Dale hitch a ride to town with the mailman for a battery for their car and are told that Beiler Farm is not Amish. When they get to town, they get on the internet to learn about Asmodeus. They read that the village of Beskytter was massacred by Asmodeus. The village trapped the demon inside a woman of which it is passed down. They quickly realized that Margot was the next in line and that is why she was brought there. When they return Margot is missing. While Dale puts the battery in the car Chris goes looking for Margot. He enters the church and encounters Jacob, Chris kills Jacob and continues looking for Margot. He finds her at the bottom of the pit, while rescuing her they are chased by a skeletal monster. The monster kills Dale and chases them into the barn. Margot realizes it is Sarah/Asmodeus and calls her by her name. Margot pushes her to her death into sharp spiked farm equipment. After Sarahs death, Asmodeus goes crazy wreaking havoc on Beiler Farm. People killing each other, burning everything to the ground. Margot and Chris get the keys off of Dales body and get out of there. When Police arrive they hear a child crying in the barn. When they get in the barn they see it is Samuel who is now possessed. Samuel makes them kill themselves before leaving in the cop car. We assume to go after Margot and Chris.
