Paranormal Activity. Directed by Oren Peli. Cast, Katie Featherston, Micah Sloat, Mark Fredricks, Amber Armstrong and Ashley Palmer. Story, 

Young couple Micah and Katie move into a new house in San Deigo,CA. Katie start experiencing strange occurrences and tells Micah how she has been haunted by an evil presence since she was a little girl. Micah puts up a camera in the bedroom to catch anything that could happen. Katie see Dr Fredricks who suggest she is being haunted by a demon. The camera catches many strange things happen. Micah put down baby powder and see human foot prints leading to a picture of Katie in the attic that was supposed to have been burnt in a fire. One night after staring at Micah for hours, Katie goes downstairs and begins creaming for Micah. When Micah gets down there he starts screaming in pain and you hear loud thud sounds. Then it gets quite, after a minute or two Micah gets thrown at the camera knocking the camera off the tripod. It shows Katie in a blood stained shirt crawling over to Micahs body. She lunges toward the camera with a demonic face and snarl. It is later stated Police find Micahs body but not Katie.

Paranormal Activity 2. Directed by Tod Williams. Cast, Sprague Grayden, Brian Boland, Molly Ephraim, Katie Featherston, Micah Sloat, Seth Ginsberg, Vivis Cortez, Jackson Prieto/William Prieto.

 When a burglary happens at Kristi and Daniels house the only room not touched was their son Hunters. They take a neckless given to Kristi by her sister Katie. Martine the house keeper senses evil spirits and starts burning sage and Daniel fires her for it. Kristi also talks about being haunted and how it started as a little girls with Katie. Ali, Daniels daughter begins investigating and her findings showed humans can make deals with demons for things like wealth and power for their first born son. If the deal doesn't go through the demon can stay with the family until there is one. Hunter is the first son born on Katies side since the 30's. Strange occurrences get worse as the family dog is attacked and goes into a seizure. Daniel and Ali take the dog to the vet, while gone Kristi is dragged into the basement and gets possessed by the demon. Scared Daniel rehires Martine who gets ready to exorcise the demon. Kristi won't remember any of this and Daniel then wants to pass the demon onto Katie to save Kristi and Hunter. Ali doesn't like this plan. Daniel decides he is going to try and use the cross on Kristi but she attacks him and all the lights go out. He uses the night vision on the camera to look around the shaking house and ends up in the basement. Kristi attacks him again and he is able to use the cross to make her collapse. Daniel puts Kristi to bed and burns a photo of Katie passing it onto her. Weeks later Katie breaks into the house killing both Daniel and Kristi then takes Hunter. It is said that Ali came home to find Daniel and Kristi dead and that Hunter was gone. The whereabouts of Katie and Hunter are unknown.

Paranormal Activity 3. Directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. Cast, Chris Smith, Lauren Bittner, Chole Csengery, Katie Featherston, Jessica Tyler Brown, Sprague Grayden, Dustin Ingram, Hallie Foote, Johanna Braddy, Brian Boland, Bailey Brown and Maria Olsen.

Katie brings a box of VHS tapes to Kristi and Daniel. The tapes have footage of Kristi and Katie as little girls with their mom Julie and her boy friend Dennis. A year goes by and the tapes are gone after Kristi and Daniels house gets ransacked. Footage on a VHS tape filmed in 1988 tells the rest of the movie. The girls living with Julie and Dennis (location of real father is unknown), Dennis starts noticing weird things happening when Kristi gets an imaginary friend named Tobi. While filming an earthquake Dennis sees an invisible figure in the bedroom. Freaked out Dennis is told by Randy to put cameras throughout the house. They hire a babysitter name Lisa and after a few incidents she wants to leave. Tobi tells Kristi they aren't friends anymore. Dennis finds a strange symbol in the girls closet and looks at a demonology book and finds the same symbol. Kristi gets sick, Julie and Dennis takes her to the hospital. While gone Katie and Randy both left at the house get attacked by a black figure that starts throwing furniture and scratches Randy across his torso. When Dennis and Julie get home he informs them that the symbol belongs to a witches coven that brainwashed the girls into having boys and giving them up but Julie dismisses it. The demon hurts Katie until Kristi gives in to what is wants. She asked her mom to take her to her grandmothers house. After a scary encounter Julie agrees. Dennis and Julie get woken up by loud sounds Julie goes to see what it is. When she doesn't return Dennis goes to looking for her. He finds occult images on the walls including the image that was in the girls room. He sees women in black and notices Lois the grandmother. He runs back to the house with all the women chasing after him. He finds Julies body floating above the ground and it is thrown at him. He hides in the girls closet before walking into the kitchen. Looking out the window he sees the women circling a fire outside. Katie and Lois in the same room as Julies body. They kill Dennis. Lois then tells Katie and Kristi to get ready. Before they leave Kristi calls Tobi and you hear snarling/growling sounds upstairs and the movie ends.

Though these are not my cup of tea this is a franchise that has a huge following. My rating on these would be 2.5 out of 5, 2 out of 5 and 2 out of 5.
