Subspecies Blu-Ray Review! Full Moon!!!

 Subspecies from Full Moon!!! Directed by Ted Nicolaou and written by Charles Band, Jackson Barr and David Pabian. Your Cast ,Angus Scrimm (King Vladislav), Anders Hove (Radu), Irina Movila (Mara) and Michael Watson (Stefan).

When an evil vampire Radu returns home after spending many years in exile. He steals the bloodstone from his father and kills him. The bloodstone is said to be bleeding from all saints. Two girls from America team up with a local girl from Prejnar to work on Romanian Culture. They are staying in an ancient house where they learn they are living with both good and evil vampires. And how they have lived in piece for centuries. Radu goes against the truce the vampires and humans have and attack the 3 girls. Stefan saves the girls and then tells them he is half brothers with Radu. Stefan wants to defeat his half brother but Radu is very powerful, intelligent and can hide very well.

I like the twist of ancient struggles brought into a modern time. The old myths and superstitions start to blur with the reality at hand. To have more than a vampire vs vampire battle by having Radu start to make an army of his own. And his half brother who wants to go back to the peace they had prior to Radu getting out of exile.

The Blu Ray features have First Subspecies "Videozone" and 6 Full Moon trailers. A little lackluster on the features but still a very nice blu-ray. At the time of this write up you can buy it on Full Moons website for $16.99. 

I liked this movie. As I like a lot of Full Moon movies. This movie for me gets a 2.5 out of 5. I think it could have had more special features like commentary, behind the scenes, deleted scenes.
