Dead Silence 4K! Scream Factory!

 Dead Silence put out by Universal. Directed by James Wan and written Leigh Whannell. Your cast, Ryan Kwanten (Jamie Ashen), Amber Valletta (Ella Ashen), Donnie Wahlberg (Detective Jim Lipton), Bob Gunton (Edward Ashen), Michael Fairman (Henry Walker), Laura Regan (Lisa Ashen), Judith Roberts (Mary Shaw).


Jamie and Lisa are living a happy life. Building it together and are expecting a baby. They receive a gift but don't know who from. When they open it, it is a ventriloquist doll. His name is Billy. Jamie decides to go get takeout. Lisa left alone hears something, a figure walks by and attacks her. After she screams it kills her and the baby. When Jamie returns he finds her dead with her tongue ripped out.


Jamie was arrested by detective Lipton for the murder but later released due to lack of evidence. Once he returned he noticed a note in Billys box. "Mary Shaw". To find out more he returns to his home town where Mary Shaw was from. He meets his father Edward, his new younger wife Ella, Henry the mortician and Henrys wife Marian. He does all he can to find out who sent the box and why. And what Mary Shaw has to do with it.


This release from Scream Factory is in 4K. You also get a Blu-Ray and a very nice slip cover. The 4K is only the theatrical version of the movie but the Blu-Ray has the theatrical and the unrated versions. It also has a ton of extras like, alternate opening and ending, deleted scenes, making of, interviews with James Wan, Leigh Whannell and Tim Selberg. 

I give this release a 4 out of 5. Main downfall is the 4K is the theatrical version only. At the time of writing this you can get it from Scream Factory for $34.99 or for $39.99 you can get it with an additional slip cover and 2 posters. I got mine at Best Buy for $30 but it was the base 4K.
